Governor Ajimobi seek commitment from stakeholders on security

Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi says the task of providing adequate security in any society requires the commitment and contributions of all stakeholders. Governor Ajimobi, who was represented by his deputy, Otunba Moses Adeyemo, said this at the Oyo State Security Trust Fund Summit and Town Hall Meeting held yesterday in Ibadan.

The forum with the theme, “Public-Private Partnership in Security Funding,” provided an opportunity for major stakeholders in the security sector to brainstorm on ways to support government in its bid at making the state crime-free. Governor Ajimobi, who said that security is an expensive venture, added that the present federal structure of the security agencies is not sustainable.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Security Trust Fund, Mr Bayo Adelabu, said that the initiative was aimed at transforming the security apparatus in the state from being a reactionary one to an anticipatory one. The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude, commended the governor for putting the security trust fund in place.
