Oyo state to launch digital switch over soonest

The chairman House Committee on Information, national orientation, ethics and values, Honourable Segun Odebunmi has assured residents that adequate measures were being put in place for the launch of digital switch over in Oyo state soonest.

The Federal Lawmaker representing Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere federal constituency gave the assurance shortly after a closed door meeting with Governor Abiola Ajimobi along with other lawmakers at the Governor's office.Honourable Odebunmi explained that one of the major reasons for delay in launching the digital switch over in the state was its large size and inadequate set-top-box for effective coverage and access.

The Federal Lawmaker also noted that though the country could not meet up with the deadline of full switch over, it however remain leading nations in Africa in terms of effort in digital switch over or analog shut down.Honourable Segun Odebunmi also expressed hope that the switch over would not only transform television experience, but would also impact on the nation's economy.
