Governor Ajimobi presents thirty six brand new cars to selected traditional rulers

Governor Abiola Ajimobi has presented thirty six brand new saloon cars to selected traditional rulers in Oyo state. The Governor made the presentation at a ceremony held at the Governor's office. In his speech before the presentation, Governor Ajimobi emphasized that Oyo state as a potpourri of culture would continue to play pacesetting roles in elevating the traditional institution and accord royal fathers required dignity.

The Governor also urged the traditional rulers not to relent in playing the role of enlightenment of the people on government effort in facilitating socio-economic development in the state, while assuring those who had applied for elevation in the traditional institution of a favorable response soonest. In his remarks at the event, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi noted that the gesture of the state government brings to fore the struggle for recognition of traditional institution as an integral part of governance.

Earlier, the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters, Bimbo Kolade urged the traditional rulers to continue to be advocate for peace in promoting communal growth in their various domains. Oba Lekan Balogun, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland and Oba Olakunlehin Owolabi, the Balogun of Ibadanland amongst others appreciated the state government for the honor, while promising to complement government effort for a better Oyo state.
