Nigerian Communications Commission intervenes in MTN’s labour issues

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said the organization has opened talks with critical stakeholders on MTN’s labour issues. NCC’s Director of Public Affairs, Mr Tony Ojobo, made this known in a statement by in Abuja. Ojobo said that NCC had also activated the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU with) Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to protect telecom critical national infrastructure.

He said that NCC activated the MoU in the wake of the labour dispute between MTN one of its major licensees and the labour following the protests that had resulted in the vandalisation of telecom infrastructure.
