Nigerian Communications Commission warns on use and sale of pre-registered SIM cards

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC has warned dealers and agents to desist forthwith from the practice of pre-registering SIM Cards and selling same in the open market.

This warning is contained in a statement issued by Mr Tony Ojobo, Director of Public Affairs, NCC .

Mr Ojobo said that it had come to the notice of NCC that in spite of regulations and directives against the sale and use of pre-registered SIM cards, operators, through their dealers and agents, still sold pre-registered SIM cards in the country.

He advised the public to stop buying pre-registered SIM cards and insist on being registered personally for any new SIM card purchased.
