United State reduces Cambodia aid in response to ‘setbacks to democracy’

The United State is reducing its aid programmes to Cambodia, citing recent “setbacks to democracy. The actions are targeting the Cambodian tax agency, local government authorities and the military, “each of which has been linked to these setbacks. The White House cited Sunday’s Senate elections, which “failed to represent the genuine will of the Cambodian people,’’ among other recent events that raised concern in Washington.
